An online video conference was held on December 21, 2020 by the Shan State Investment Committee (SSIC) in order to launch the operational plan of the SSIPP for the fiscal year 2020-2021. The opening speech was delivered by U Soe Nyunt Lwin, the Minister of Planning and Economics in Shan State and the Secretary of Shan State Investment Committee. U Lay Naing, the Director of DICA Shan State presented a brief overview of the SSIPP’s annual operational plan. The representatives from the relevant working groups of the SSIPP then answered questions from the media and other participants.
The Shan State Investment Committee (SSIC) officially announced the Shan State Investment Promotion Plan (SSIPP) in March 2020. The representatives of the six main working groups of the SSIPP Implementation Committees, which include government and private organizations of Shan State, have been developing the annual action plan for 2020-2021 since June 2020.
The plan is based on the objectives of each SSIPP strategy and includes detailed work plans and timelines, estimated budgets, and business indicators to be achieved in Shan State during the fiscal year 2020-2021 for each working group. The implementation plan was facilitated by GIZBusiness on behalf of the German Government.
