Under the guidance of the Shan State Investment Committee, a dialogue session was held on 20th September 2022, at the Southern Shan State Chamber of Commerce and Industry Office, to expand oil crop cultivation and increase production in Taunggyi, Shan State.
Dr. Kyaw Tun, chairman of the Shan State Investment Committee, gave an opening speech to the discussion. The State Director of DICA Shan State clarified the available investment opportunities according to the Myanmar Investment Law. The Deputy Director, Department of Agriculture, clarified the conditions of oilseed cultivation in Shan State. Director of Department of Rural Development clarified and discussed the list of projects to be carried out in the villages where oil crops (sunflower) will be planted.
Continuing, all the representatives who attended said that oil crop expansion agriculture, difficulties encountered in order to increase production, the recommendations were discussed in a round table.
